Communion

Communion (or The Lord's Supper)

Communion services are held monthly, alternating between morning evening services.  

All who love the Lord Jesus as Saviour are welcome to partake of communion.

The Bread and Wine are served to people where they sit. If a person does not wish to partake of communion then a simple gesture will signal the server to pass by. 
Firstly the Bread is brought around and is eaten when it is received.
Secondly the communion wine is distributed and is kept until all have received so that we can all partake together.

We celebrate communion, because Jesus told His disciples they were to do so. On the night that He was betrayed, Jesus took bread and wine and gave them to His disciples. He told them that the bread represented His Body and the wine represented His blood which He was going to shed for the forgiveness of their sins. He knew that we forget things so easily and so He told them to take bread and wine and 'remember Him'. When we take communion we remember that on the cross of Calvary he took the punishment which we deserved for disobeying God. Because He has taken our punishment, He offers forgiveness to anyone who comes to Him in repentance. The bread and the wine are purely symbols which help us remember the sacrifice of Jesus.
